A country/nation is defined by it’s ability to defend it’s border’s or sovereignty over a specific area. All the other ideology defining a nation is nothing more than a joke. Imagine Canada claiming sovereignty if the USA decided it wanted to annex that territory. It’d be a hard fight, maybe, but eventually Canada wouldn’t exist anymore. In fact, who would care about the Declaration of Independence if the British won? What would the United States look like if the Confederacy won?

Immigrating to another country does NOT address the problems in your own land. That’s what the pilgrims did and what many immigrants are doing today – giving up and running away. Finding an island is the same thing as running away.

Accepting current government is non-patriotic. If you love the land and the people in it, you’ll seek to better it. Ignoring a failing government is akin to accepting it. It’s like ignoring slavery and its effects on society. You ignore it, you don’t address, you don’t fix it, you allow it to continue.

No one wants to really escape America. As a citizen and voter, I seek to change it, make it better for everyone including people with your defeatist mindset.

I understand and respect how nations get started as well as how they are maintained. And that pitiful attitude you exhibit is NOT the way!

America wasn’t created by stating the flaws of Britain.
It was created by offering what the general population wanted.

So, if you really wanted to start a country, you should offer a better path.

Not just point out the fact that republic nations aren’t stable.

Of course, the government wouldn’t allow you to start your own country anyways.

Which gives you a few options:

1. Immigrate to another country.
2. Accept that the government does have power over you.
3. Find an island, and try to build a new country (may I warn you that most people who have tried this quickly lost the island to a legitimate government claiming it).

or, 4. You can ignore the government all together.

In the end, you can’t really escape America.
It is not only the Superpower of the globe (though that has become arguable), but many countries use it as an example of a capitalist, republic example.

All nations are little America’s.
No matter what they say.

We’ve just been screwed by our president a little bit more than most developed nations.
